As envisioned in the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, UGC has taken various initiatives for the internationalization of the Indian education system including notifying “University Grants Commission (Recognition and Grant of Equivalence to Qualifications obtained from Foreign Educational Institutions) Regulations, 2024”. These Regulations lay down the conditions and procedure for recognition and grant of equivalence to qualifications obtained from foreign educational institutions. These Regulations shall not apply to professional qualifications awarded by foreign educational institutions in disciplines like Medicine, Pharmacy, Nursing, Law, and Architecture, which are regulated by the norms of respective Statutory Councils in India.

Disclaimer: The equivalence certificate issued by UGC is based on the information and documents (course module, mark sheets, transcripts, and certificates) provided by the applicant.
